Welcome to the Winter 2020 edition of the Research and Enterprise newsletter.
This is the last edition for this calendar year and in so many ways 2020 has tested us all. In 2019, who would have thought phrases like: ‘You are on mute’ and ‘put your questions in the chat’ would become some of the most common phrases in our daily work? I am hopeful that 2021 will bring normality, as we knew it, back to our lives. Despite all the challenges and different ways of working, the research and enterprise ecosystem at the University of 69成人网 has continued to thrive and this newsletter is testament to this.
The cover image showcases Professor Nash’s research that unravelled the 400-year-old mystery of where the sarsen stones used to build Stonehenge came from. As you can see on page 22, this research, published in Science Advances, attracted considerable media attention and Dave became an overnight celebrity!
Of course, as the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research and Enterprise), I was particularly delighted that the paper was published in time for the Research Excellence Framework (REF). As I am writing this, there are only 106 days to go until our REF submission. We are making good progress and as we approach the final stages, it is all hands on deck. I want to thank colleagues for all they are doing to help with our preparation.
