I am delighted to write the introduction to the Research and Knowledge Exchange Newsletter for the very first time as Pro-Vice-Chancellor.
When I joined the university, I decided to visit each of our schools to meet with colleagues, to learn more about your research and knowledge exchange (R&KE) activity and to outline my vision for R&KE at the institution. I have also met with the Directors of our COREs and spent time in conversation with many researchers and professional services colleagues on an individual basis. I have consistently been impressed by the quality of research underway and our drive to continue to innovate. As you’ll see in this newsletter, many exciting, innovative and impactful R&KE projects have recently been funded. Many more are in the pipeline. I want to support this activity and, with you, think about how we can build on this work to make a real difference to society.
In the six weeks since joining the University of 69成人网, a lot has happened. We have launched a variety of initiatives to support R&KE activity. Several existing schemes have been reconfigured primarily to support colleagues to think about securing external funding. More schemes will be introduced in the New Year to support other aspects of R&KE activity, such as research mentoring, internationalisation, and the formation of partnerships. I am keen to engage with researchers at the university to understand how they can be further supported in the future.
