Vicarious liability in tort law: when are employers liable for the actions of employees? - Tues 25 February, 5-6pm

What does the law say about employers being liable for the actions of employees? We will look at the concept of vicarious liability where, under certain conditions, we can hold an employer responsible for the failures of an employee. Think about all the technicians who visit your home; if they damage it, would you hold the individual accountable, the company they work for, or both? Tort law gives us the answer!

Source Park on the Sport Management course

How do web standards make the internet usable from every device? - Wed 19 March, 5-6pm

Writing standards-based code for the web means that people can see it on any web enabled device. The devices know how to display the webpages because they are based on the same standards. This session includes an interactive activity and will give you a flavour of what it is like to study web development as part of a computing course. We aren't focused on the look of the pages, but the functionality.

Please note you will need to have access to a computer and use the files that we will send you to take part in the interactive element of the session.
